British engineering at its finest

We pride ourselves on being the leading engineers in the security smoke business and all of our system components meet exacting standards and undergo rigorous testing procedures.

Our UK manufacturing facility is also the leader in industrial systems and fire training solutions, giving us a wide range of expertise and the edge over our competitors. We boast a range of prominent clients who all have very high expectations. Our Smoke Screen generators are used by the Atomic Energy Authority and the United States Air Force as well as fire brigades, training centres, leak testing companies, special effects studios and countless other businesses worldwide.

Strong as Steel

At the heart of every Smoke Screen generator is our steel heater block.

There are many benefits of using steel to make this component.

Steel provides better heat retention, more persistent smoke, explosive bursts, a longer firing time, a reduced time between activations, a more energy-efficient and reliable system, and drier, safer, smaller smoke particles. Our steel blocks are precision engineered to eliminate the risk of fracture that affects the aluminium blocks often found in other smoke systems.

Our ‘high watt density’ cartridge heaters raise the block temperature quickly and maintain it effortlessly, making our heating blocks among the most energy-efficient components on the market. Our PCBs now include an energy saving mode in all new machines as standard to keep the costs down for you and for the planet.

Lower-rated heaters may appear ‘Greener’, but because they do not reach their optimum temperature as quickly, they actually expend a greater amount of energy over a longer period of time than Smoke Screen heaters.
